Hi, we are the team behind GetWebsiteBuilt, and this is our first post. We thought we would start with who we are, the problem we are solving, and why we are doing this now.
The problem
Most small businesses still do not have a website. Not because they do not want one, but because the tools built for them are not really built for them. They are asked to drag boxes around a canvas, pick fonts, wire up forms, and learn a new app, all while running an entire business on their own. So they put it off, or they hand over hundreds of dollars and weeks of back-and-forth to get something simple online.
The barber, the baker, the wedding planner, the music teacher. These are people who are great at what they do. They should not have to become web designers to be found online.
What we are building
GetWebsiteBuilt makes a website for a small business in about a minute. You describe your business, select a few options, and a live website appears, written for you, ready to publish. No canvas, no manual, no jargon. When you are happy with it, you publish for a few dollars a month. That is the whole thing.
Why now
For the first time, the technology can do the hard part (the writing, the layout, the structure) well enough that a business owner never has to touch it. That changes what a website tool can be. It can finally be simple enough for the people who needed it most all along.
