Cookie Policy

Effective date: August 18, 2026

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, remember preferences, and measure how a site is used. "Similar technologies," such as local storage, session storage, and pixel tags, work in comparable ways and are covered by this policy.

2. How We Use Cookies

The short version: we use almost none. This policy covers cookies set on getwebsitebuilt.com (marketing site) and the customer dashboard. Our analytics runs in cookieless mode, so there is no tracking to consent to and no cookie banner.

Sites published by our customers on *.getwebsitebuilt.com or custom domains set no cookies at all. Page views on those sites are counted on our servers without cookies, without storing visitor IP addresses, and without any identifier that could follow a visitor around.

3. Categories We Use

Strictly Necessary

Required for the Service to function. For example, to authenticate you, secure your session, and remember basic preferences. These cannot be disabled through our UI; disabling them in your browser will break sign-in and core features.

  • Authentication session cookies (keeping you signed in to the dashboard)
  • A language preference cookie, set only if you use the language toggle on the marketing site

Analytics & Performance

Our analytics tooling helps us understand how the marketing site and dashboard are used, and it runs in cookieless mode: it sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and uses no persistent identifiers. This is why we don't show a cookie consent banner. There is nothing to consent to.

Payments

Stripe sets cookies when you load a billing form to detect fraud and to provide the payment experience. These are necessary to securely process payments. See Stripe's cookie policy for details.

Marketing

We currently do not set advertising or remarketing cookies. If we introduce them in the future, we will update this policy and, where required by law, ask for your consent first.

4. Managing and Disabling Cookies

You can control cookies in several ways:

  • Browser settings: Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. See your browser's help pages for instructions. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent sign-in and break the dashboard.
  • Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control: We do not sell or share personal information or run cross-site tracking, so there is nothing for a GPC signal to opt out of; our practices already meet what it asks for.
  • Mobile devices: System settings on iOS and Android let you limit ad tracking and clear storage on a per-app basis.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when our use of cookies changes or when laws require it. The "Effective date" at the top reflects the most recent revision.
